{"id":1081,"date":"2020-07-29T11:46:03","date_gmt":"2020-07-29T11:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1081"},"modified":"2020-07-29T11:46:20","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T11:46:20","slug":"soa-engineering-students-shine-in-flipkart-grid-robotics-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1081","title":{"rendered":"SOA ENGINEERING STUDENTS SHINE IN FLIPKART GRiD ROBOTICS CHALLENGE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the world locked itself behind closed doors to combat Coronavirus,\nfive students of the faculty of engineering and technology of SOA Deemed to be\nUniversity utilized the time to come up with a remarkable performance to qualify\nfor Level-2 in the Flipkart GRiD 2.0 Robotics Challenge as the only team from\nOdisha other than IIT and NIT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The team, which competed with groups\nfrom IITs, NITs and premier technical institutes from all over the country,\nperformed brilliantly to carve a niche for itself. It has also qualified for\nthe CISCO Thingqbator Startup Track Program and had been alerted to be ready to\nenter the market for Drone software, Prof. Sujit Dash, Professor and Head,\nCorporate Engagement, Training and Placement, at the Institute of Technical\nEducation and Research (ITER), SOA\u2019s faculty of engineering and technology,\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"498\" src=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/iter-1024x498.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1083\" data-link=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1083\" class=\"wp-image-1083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/iter-1024x498.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/iter-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/iter-768x373.jpg 768w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/iter.jpg 1522w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The group of five undergraduate\nstudents of Computer Science of 2021 graduating batch, have come up with\nremarkable research and development projects focusing on real time industrial\nand consumer market space, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jivitesh Debata, Arun Kumar Mohanty,\nManosini Dash, Mohammed Azmal and Anshuman Pandia, who constituted the team,\nfelt that they had spent the lock down period in a productive manner as they\nwent ahead with their project\u2014while maintaining social distance&#8212; with the\nsupport of the university and faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cNow, if there is any problem that\nneeds a solution in robotics, web-apps or Artificial Intelligence development\nor even something as simple as a smart bulb, we can deliver as a team from\nstart to end,\u201d Debata said adding \u201cthis has been a huge experience we have\ngained in our career path and lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The team comprises a Drone Pilot who\nhas represented the country at international events, Full Stack Web\nDevelopment, UI\/UX modules and in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Prof.\nDash said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Looking into the new and emerging\ntechnologies, the team has been inspired to carry out the job as it was\ninfluenced by the academic culture and professional upbringing of the SOA\ncampus, Debata said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cThe academic curriculum and\nlearning methodologies pursued at ITER and continuous support of the university\nmanagement have been a boost and inspiration to all of us,\u201d Azmal, another\nstudent, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The team members also collaborated\nwith talents from Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to give\nshape to new ideas and innovations.
