{"id":1144,"date":"2020-10-07T12:04:19","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T12:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1144"},"modified":"2020-10-07T12:04:23","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T12:04:23","slug":"96-year-old-freedom-fighter-defeats-covid-19-at-sum-covid-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1144","title":{"rendered":"96-YEAR-OLD FREEDOM FIGHTER DEFEATS COVID-19 AT SUM COVID HOSPITAL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bhubaneswar, Oct. 7: In the continuing battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, a 96-year-old freedom fighter under treatment at the SUM Covid Hospital here has emerged victorious spreading cheer all around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr.\nLoknath Nayak, who tested positive for Coronavirus on September 29, was\nadmitted into the hospital on the same day complaining of fever, weakness and\nbreathing problem. He was discharged from the hospital, the largest Covid-19\nfacility in the state, on Wednesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having joined the freedom\nmovement in his young days, Mr. Nayak served the government as an officer till\nhis retirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"573\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/AA-573x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1146\" data-link=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1146\" class=\"wp-image-1146\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/AA-573x1024.jpg 573w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/AA-168x300.jpg 168w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/AA.jpg 610w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 573px) 100vw, 573px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr.\nNayak was diagnosed with Covid-19 and also had underlying co-morbidities\nincluding Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and diabetes, the critical care team treating\nthe nonagenarian, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mr.\nNayak, who was under anti-viral treatment, was in the ICU for a few days till\nhe recovered fully. \u201cThe treatment I received was beyond my expectation. The\ndoctors and nurses treated me with much care and compassion.
