{"id":1253,"date":"2020-12-26T10:50:54","date_gmt":"2020-12-26T10:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1253"},"modified":"2020-12-26T10:50:59","modified_gmt":"2020-12-26T10:50:59","slug":"four-more-soa-researchers-get-into-stanfords-2-per-cent-scientist-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1253","title":{"rendered":"FOUR MORE SOA RESEARCHERS GET INTO STANFORD\u2019S 2 PER CENT SCIENTIST LIST"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Four more researchers at Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan (SOA) have found place in Stanford University\u2019s prestigious world ranking of two per cent scientists which was drawn up on the basis of a subject-wise analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The four researchers, Prof. Goutam\nRath, Dr. Manoj Kumar Nayak, Dr. Satyaranjan Mishra and Dr. Debabrata Pradhan,\nwere felicitated by the university on Saturday for their work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, seven eminent SOA researchers,\nProf. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, Prof. (Dr.) Pradipta Kishore Dash, Prof.\nKulamani Parida, Prof. Lala Behari Sukla, Prof. R.N.P.Choudhary, Prof.\nJ.C.Misra and Dr. Nihar Bala Devi had been named in the list prepared by the\nUS\u2013based university. With this, a total of 11 researchers from SOA, ranked 20<sup>th<\/sup>\namong universities in the country by the National Institutional Ranking\nFramework (NIRF) in 2020, have been mentioned in the Stanford list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The\nsubject-wise analysis was conducted by involving one lakh top scientists of the\nworld on the basis of standardized citation indicators such as information on\ncitations, H-index, co-authorship and a composite indicator. The database was\npublished recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"406\" src=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/4-Scientists-1024x406.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1255\" data-link=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1255\" class=\"wp-image-1255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/4-Scientists-1024x406.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/4-Scientists-300x119.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/4-Scientists-768x305.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Rath is presently working as Professor\nin the department of Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences,\nSOA\u2019s faculty of pharmaceutical sciences while Dr. Nayak is a lecturer at the\nInstitute of Higher Secondary Education (IHSE), a Plus Two science college run\nby SOA. Dr. Mishra and Dr. Pradhan are faculty members at the Institute of\nTechnical Education and Research (ITER), SOA\u2019s faculty of engineering and\ntechnology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahapatra\nfelicitated the scientists in the presence of the university\u2019s Registrar Prof.\nB.B.Pradhan and Dean (Research) Prof. P.K.Nanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A highly\nresearch-focused university with around 50 per cent of its Research and\nDevelopment Centres aligned to national priorities, SOA has 13 research centres\nand 42 research labs. Investigators are provided extensive facilities to\nconduct research in the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Of the four\nresearchers who were felicitated, Prof. Rath is a leading scientist in the\nfield of cutting age platform technology (nanotechnology) for site specific\ntargeted delivery of drugs and bio-actives who has over 150 scientific papers\npublished in recognized journals and has authored four text books. He is\npresently conducting research on the use of immunomodulators with\nlipid\/polymer\/polysaccharides for non-invasive dry powder inhalers for site\nspecific targeted delivery of drugs and vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dr. Nayak,\nwho did his M.Sc. from NIT, Rourkela in 1995 and Ph.D from Utkal University in\n2015, is engaged in research and higher studies in the field of nano-fluids. He\nhas been teaching Physics for 22 years and has 83 research papers to his\ncredit. Several research scholars are currently working under him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dr. Mishra\nis an Associate Professor in Mathematics at ITER who is a product of SOA having\ndone his M.Tech and Ph.D from the university. He has guided ten Ph.D students\nand has 125 published research papers to his credit while Dr. Pradhan is\npresently working as an Assistant Professor in SOA\u2019s Bio-fuels and\nBio-processing Research Centre.
