The Institute of Technical Education\nand Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of Siksha \u2018O\u2019\nAnusandhan (SOA) and acknowledged as Numero Uno among institutions of higher\neducation in Odisha, has staved off the huge worldwide impact of the Covid-19\npandemic to ensure placement of about 85 per cent of the total eligible students\nof the 2021 graduating batch in top-notch companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 30\nper cent of these students have received job offers during Day Zero dream campus\ndrive involving reputed companies with Amazon\nproffering the highest package of Rs. 30 lakh per annum with the average annual\nsalary received by the students being Rs. 6.3 lakh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ncompanies who have picked up these students include Microsoft, Amazon,\nFinastra, Robert Bosch, Dell, PWC, Kloudgin, Deloitte, HP Inc, Temenos,\nInformatica, MAQ Software, NPCI, Salesforce and Rapyuta Robotics. In spite of\nthe pandemic, most of the students have also received multiple job offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remaining around 55 per cent of\nthe students have received offers from reputed MNCs and Day-1 and Day-2\nrecruiters like Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, DXC, Capgemini, Hexaware, HCL, NIIT\nTechnologies, Infogain, Tudip Technologies, V-Construct, L&T Technologies, NCC,\nGlobal Edge and several others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides, reputed digital marketing\ncorporate, Mediamint, has evinced interest in recruiting a sizeable number of\ntalents from SOA this year based on their Centre of Excellence model which\ncould lead to placement of approximately 95 per cent of the students by end of\nthe campus recruitment season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 90 companies have\nparticipated in the campus recruitment drive in ITER this year. Besides,\nreputed corporates have shown their inclination towards SOA for setting up\nlearning hubs in the campus based on the students\u2019 performance. This would\nresult in the students receiving enormous exposure in the industry domain in\nthe days ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exposed to the excellent facility of\ntraining programs in coding, technology, soft skills, aptitude and intermittent\ncounseling, students in SOA are expected to achieve their targets and\nrecognized for their knowledge and skill at all levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A\nsix-member team of ITER students, who participated in the Smart India Hackathon\n2020 conducted by the Ministry of Education, emerged champions winning the\nproblem statement RK57 (Digital Policing) winning a prize money of Rs. one\nlakh. Another significant achievement was the performance of the students in\nthe TCS CodeVita Season 9 conducted by Tata Consultancy Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Microsoft has extended career\nopportunity to nine students from SOA which is the highest in eastern India for\nthe second consecutive year while consulting major Deloitte, with offices in\nUSA, has committed for premium category selection with a package of Rs. 7.6\nlakh per annum for a significant number of talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides, the joining conversion ratio\nin Day-1 companies, Cognizant, Wipro and Infosys has received huge appreciation\nfrom the said corporates indicating the best conversion ratio in eastern India.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SOA\u2019s focus being on investigation\nand scrutiny, it has set up 13 research centers and 42 research laboratories to\nboost such activities in 22 identified thrust areas. Work of SOA\u2019s faculty and\nresearch scholars get published regularly in reputed peer reviewed\ninternational journals. The university has 7261 Scopus Indexed publications to\nits credit till now with an H-Index of 65. Researchers at SOA have so far filed\n299 patents while the number of novel gene sequences submitted is 515. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The socially inclusive university\nhas nine institutes under it imparting education in engineering, medicine,\ndental sciences, management, nursing, hospitality and tourism management, hospital\nadministration, pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology, law and agriculture.\nSOA was ranked 20th<\/sup> in the country by the National Institutional\nRanking Framework (NIRF) in 2020 occupying the first place in Odisha.
