The\nevent was part of the National Health Fest for Divyangjan conducted by SOB\naiming to medically screen 75,000 children with intellectual disabilities in 75\ncities of the country between April 5 and 7 as part of the ongoing \u2018Azadi Ka\nAmrit Mahotsav\u2019 marking the 75<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Across\nthe country, 7,500 intellectually challenged child athletes jogged at 126\ndifferent locations at the same time for one minute as part of the program to\nfind place in the Guinness Book of&nbsp; Children with such disabilities have\nbeen winning laurels for the country in Para Olympics. He cited the example of\nSatish Gujral who is counted among the top five painters in the country though\nhe was deaf and dumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"622\" src=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2-2-1024x622.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1596\" data-link=\"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1596\" class=\"wp-image-1596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2-2-1024x622.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2-2-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2-2-768x467.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Prakash Rath, Area Director for\nSOB, said the aim of the program was to bring these children out of their homes\nafter two years. The differently abled athletes from India who participated in\nthe Special Olympics in UAE last year had won 379 medals for India of which 85\nwere gold, he said.\n\nProf. Neeta Mohanty, Dean of IDS, Prof. Bijay\nKumar Sahu, Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), SOA\u2019s faculty\nof agricultural sciences and Prof.&nbsp; Jyoti\nRanjan Das, Dean (Students\u2019 Welfare) also spoke.
