Continuing its pre-eminent position in academics and research, Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here climbed several notches to be placed 16th<\/sup> in the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for 2022 released by the Union Education Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            SOA,\nnationally ranked 20th<\/sup> in the university category by NIRF last year,\nhad improved its position in four different categories and broke into the top ten\nbracket in two others in the 2022 rankings. Two of the SOA institutes,\nInstitute of Dental Sciences (IDS), faculty of dental sciences, and SOA\nNational Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies, figured in the top\nten bracket in the country for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The\n15-year-old Deemed to be University was ranked 30th<\/sup> in the overall\ncategory (37th<\/sup> in 2021) this time while it was ranked 18th<\/sup>\nin medical sciences, 27th<\/sup> in engineering and 10th<\/sup> in\ndental sciences categories. Entering the fray for the first time, SOA\u2019s faculty\nof law was ranked 9th<\/sup> in the country while the university was placed\n45th<\/sup> in research category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            SOA\nhad recently reached a huge milestone when the National Assessment and\nAccreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the university with the highest Grade\nA++ with a Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) of 3.88 out of 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Ever\nsince the NIRF ranking was introduced by the Ministry of Education in 2016, SOA\nhas been the youngest university to be continuously ranked among the top 25\nuniversities in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Institute\nof Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, SOA\u2019s faculty of medical sciences, was\nranked 21st<\/sup> by NIRF in 2021 while the Institute of Technical\nEducation and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology, and\nInstitute of Dental Sciences (IDS), were ranked 32nd<\/sup>  and 14th<\/sup> respectively last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            SOA\u2019s\nlatest ranking meant that it was the third best university in the east while\nits faculties of medical sciences and dental sciences occupied the number one\nposition among the eastern states. It\u2019s faculty of law was positioned third in\nthe eastern region.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
