Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, Founder President of Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan (SOA) was on Saturday conferred with the prestigious Distinguished Alumnus Award of IIT Kharagpur for 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The award was conferred on Prof. (Dr.) Nayak in absentia at\nIIT Kharagpur\u2019s 68th<\/sup> convocation ceremony. Prof. Pradipta Kumar\nNanda, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SOA Deemed to be University received the award on\nbehalf of Prof. (Dr.) Nayak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs your Alma Mater, the institute applauds and takes great\npride to bestow this honour in recognition of your professional achievements\nthat made significant contributions in various fields of academia and research,\nindustries, community-society and the institute at large,\u201d a communication\nreceived by Prof. (Dr.) Nayak from IIT Kharagpur said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A teacher-turned-edupreneur, Prof. (Dr.) Nayak, graduated in electrical engineering from the\nRegional Engineering College (presently NIT) at Rourkela and completed M.Tech\nin Computer Science from IIT, Kharagpur. He obtained his doctorate from the\nOdisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof.\n(Dr.) Nayak had also received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from NIT,\nRourkela earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After\nworking as a Professor in OUAT, he floated SOA and has set up ten institutions\nof professional learning in Bhubaneswar. The institutes, which operate under\nthe SOA Deemed to be University umbrella have been imparting education in engineering\nand technology, medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, dental sciences,\nmanagement sciences, hospitality and tourism management, nursing, legal\nstudies, agricultural sciences and veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. \n\nAround\n15,000 students study in SOA including from foreign countries.
