{"id":1800,"date":"2023-03-13T06:35:04","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T06:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1800"},"modified":"2023-03-13T06:35:04","modified_gmt":"2023-03-13T06:35:04","slug":"soas-faculty-of-agriculture-organises-arnna-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1800","title":{"rendered":"SOA\u2019S FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE ORGANISES \u2018ARNNA-2023\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), faculty\nof agricultural sciences of Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan (SOA), has been making steady\nprogress after it was established in 2013 with the students getting good\nopportunities for employment, Prof. Debi Prasad Ray, Chancellor of the Deemed\nto be University, said on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIAS has been growing and is poised to become one of\nthe best institutions of the state,\u201d Prof. Ray said while addressing the\ninaugural function of \u2018Arnna-2023\u2019, the annual fest of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IAS, he said, is the second institution for imparting\neducation in agricultural sciences to be set up in Odisha after the Orissa\nUniversity of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) and the first such college established\nin the private domain in eastern and north eastern India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe student strength of IAS has grown from around 100\nin 2013 to more than 1400 today with many from foreign countries studying\nhere,\u201d Prof. Ray, who was former Vice-Chancellor of OUAT, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/arnna-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1802\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1802\" class=\"wp-image-1802\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/arnna-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/arnna-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/arnna-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>SOA\u2019s Vice-Chancellor and Dean of IAS, Prof. Bijay\nKumar Sahoo, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan,\nDean (Students\u2019 Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das and Additional Dean Prof.\nSantosh Kumar Rout also addressed the function which was conducted by Prof.\nPrabhat Kumar Sarangi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Arnna\u2019, the institute\u2019s literary magazine which\ncontains creative efforts of students and faculty members, was unveiled on the\noccasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banita Patra, a graduate of the institute, who emerged\nsuccessful in the Odisha civil service examination recently was felicitated on\nthe occasion. Another student, Jogajanma Sahu, who was the best graduate of the\nlast academic year, was also felicitated in absentia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the eve of the annual day program, a\nfarmer-scientist interaction was organised on Thursday which was attended by\naround 100 cultivators whose querries were answered by professors of the\ninstitution. The program was graced by District Chief Agricultural Officer of\nKhurda district, Mr. Chakradhar Panda while Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda,\nPro-Vice Chancellor of SOA also addressed the gathering.
