{"id":1825,"date":"2023-04-08T14:27:59","date_gmt":"2023-04-08T14:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1825"},"modified":"2023-04-08T14:28:00","modified_gmt":"2023-04-08T14:28:00","slug":"national-workshop-on-mechanical-ventilation-held-at-sumum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1825","title":{"rendered":"NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON MECHANICAL VENTILATION HELD AT SUMUM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Seventy-three clinicians and intensivists, from across the \u00a0country are attending a two-day workshop on Mechanical Ventilation which began at the SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM)\u00a0 here on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop has provided the participants the opportunity for one-to-one interaction with the faculties while offering them simulation based learning, Dr. Banambar Ray, SUMUM\u2019s Head, Department of Critical Care and organizing chairman of the event, said. \u201cThis kind of academic event has never been conducted in the state before,\u201d he said adding it provided the participants the required knowledge and practice to start and manage their patients on ventilators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inauguration of the annual national workshop was done by Prof. (Dr.) Datteswar Hota, Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University for Health Sciences, who said the Covid-19 pandemic had changed the concept of critical care. \u201cThe subject of critical care had taken centre-stage because of Covid and now the stage has been set for introduction of smart care ventilators,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The patient-ventilator relationship has assumed significance and it would get boosted because of Artificial Intelligence, Prof. (Dr.) Hota said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/sumum-1-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1828\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1828\" class=\"wp-image-1828\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/sumum-1-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/sumum-1-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/sumum-1-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop has been organised by W4C Critical Care Foundation in collaboration with the Bhubaneswar city branch of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and SUM Ultimate Medicare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Swetapadma Dash, CEO of SUMUM, said the workshop would remain an essential milestone not only for SUMUM but also for the healthcare delivery in the state. \u201cIt is expected to provide highly informative and valuable experience to all participants and enhance their skill and knowledge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inaugural program was also addressed by Dr. Narendra Rungta, Founder Chairman and Managing Trustee of Critical Care Foundation, Jaipur, Brig.
