{"id":1952,"date":"2023-10-13T11:53:21","date_gmt":"2023-10-13T11:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1952"},"modified":"2023-10-13T11:53:22","modified_gmt":"2023-10-13T11:53:22","slug":"serving-the-underprivileged-can-shape-character-of-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=1952","title":{"rendered":"SERVING THE UNDERPRIVILEGED CAN SHAPE CHARACTER OF STUDENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Serving the underprivileged in the society is an opportunity\nwhich can help shape the character of students as they get educated, speakers\nsaid at a program organised to mark the 17<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of \u2018Jaago\u2019,\nan initiative of Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan Deemed to be University here to promote\nlearning in slum children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students of SOA have been reaching out to slum children providing them personalized tuition while extending other help like books and uniform besides healthcare benefit since 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1002\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1-1024x1002.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1954\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1954\" class=\"wp-image-1954\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1-1024x1002.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1-300x294.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/3-1-768x752.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Jaago initiative launched in 2007 has been supporting underprivileged children while it was promoting the sense of responsibility towards the society in our students,\u201d Ms. Saswati Das, Vice-President of SOA, who attended the program as the chief guest, said.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been creating a spirit of community welfare among the students while helping them to become good citizens, she said adding participating in the Jaago activity would enrich humanitarian aspects in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"515\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/2-1-1024x515.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1955\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=1955\" class=\"wp-image-1955\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/2-1-1024x515.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/2-1-300x151.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/2-1-768x386.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Das said SOA was committed to the well being of the children it was working for so that they could aspire for a bright future for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, said the education system was intended for the greater good of the society while pointing out that the National Education Policy (NEP) had laid stress on students\u2019 involvement in social work.
