Odisha\u2019s\nminister for health and family welfare Mr. Niranjan Pujari, 5T Chairman Mr.\nV.K. SOA\nVice-President Ms. Saswati Das, SOA\u2018s &nbsp;Principal\nAdvisor (Health Sciences) Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mahapatra and Medical Superintendent\nProf. Pusparaj &nbsp;Samantasinhar&nbsp; were also present on the occasion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMS and SUM Hospital has\nbeen serving the masses with rare dedication for more than 18 years now and has\nemerged as one of the most popular healthcare destinations in Odisha and\nneighbouring states. The institution was ranked 16<sup>th<\/sup> best medical\ncollege in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)\nin 2023, Prof. Nanda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new teaching hospital,\nwhich will have 750 beds to begin with, will increase the same to 3000 within\ntwo years. The onco care facilities available at Phulnakhara will include\nradiation oncology, nuclear medicine and sophisticated diagnostic equipment.\nThe location of the hospital will greatly benefit patients as they will be able\nto access it from different parts of the state, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"599\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-A-1024x599.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"2014\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=2014\" class=\"wp-image-2014\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-A-1024x599.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-A-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-A-768x449.jpg 768w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-A-357x210.jpg 357w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The hospital will have\nall departments including General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Pediatrics,\nNeonatology, Critical Care Medicine, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology,\nRadio-Diagnosis, Emergency Medicine, Immuno Hematology, Radiation Oncology,\nNuclear Medicine, Medical Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, General Surgery,\nOrthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pathology and\nMicrobiology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eminent health care\nexperts, either trained overseas or in reputed medical institutions in India,\nwho have been extending high quality specialist and super speciaility medical\ncare to the patients drawn from different socio-economic strata at affordable\ncost at IMS and SUM Hospital, will also serve the new hospital. It will provide\nround-the-clock emergency service including ICU, ICCU, PICU, NICU and exclusive\nICU for Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) and Hemato Oncology\npatients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Nanda said\nanother campus of SUM Hospital was being set up at Sitalapalli in Ganjam\ndistrict and it was expected to be dedicated to the people by end of January.\nThe hospital will have 350 beds and all necessary modern healthcare\ninfrastructure, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"2013\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=2013\" class=\"wp-image-2013\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/New-SUM-2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe three hospitals\nrun by SOA will compliment each other while striving to extend quality\nhealthcare to the people,\u201d he said adding treatment under the Biju Swasthya\nKalyan Yojana (BSKY) would be extended to eligible patients in all the three\nhospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMS and SUM Hospital at\nBhubaneswar, where 250 students get admission into the MBBS course every year,\nwas launched in 2005.
