The women workforce of Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here has been honoured with the \u2018Femina Achievers\u2019 East\u2019 award for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SOA was presented the certificate meant for its \u2018Committed Women Workforce\u2019 engaged in the education sector at a program organised by \u2018Femina\u2019, the oldest women\u2019s English magazine, at Kolkata recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North East India and Mr. Nicolas Facino, Director, Alliance Francaise du Bengale presented the award to SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and Public Relations Officer Ms. Subhadarshini Mishra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fiftyfour per cent of the students of SOA, which has been ranked 14th<\/sup> in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024, are girls while 42 per cent of its workforce including the faculty members are women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Women occupy 45 important posts in the university with Prof. Manjula Das positioned as Controller of Examination. Three of SOA\u2019s 11 institutes are headed by women while heads of 25 departments belong to the fair sex.
