{"id":392,"date":"2020-01-31T08:34:52","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T08:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=392"},"modified":"2020-01-31T08:34:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T08:34:55","slug":"first-soa-literary-fest-to-kick-off-on-february-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?p=392","title":{"rendered":"FIRST SOA LITERARY FEST TO KICK-OFF ON FEBRUARY 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> A galaxy of nearly 100 eminent litterateurs from different parts of the country are expected to come together on a single platform to discuss the contemporary trends in Indian literature as the first SOA Literary Festival is scheduled to kick-off here on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The two-day literary fiesta is being\nhosted for the first time by the Siksha \u2018O\u2019 Anusandhan Deemed to be University,\na front-ranking university in the country, to facilitate the interface between\neminent authors, story tellers, poets, commentators, historians, critics and\ntranslators, both young and old, and further the cause of Indian literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The event,\nwhich bears the tagline \u2018Celebration of Words and Ideas\u2019, will also focus on\nthe rich literary and cultural legacy of Odisha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; \u201cSOA\nbelieves that though Science and Technology are tools through which modern\nsociety\u2019s progress is made possible, it should be done in an atmosphere\nfragrant with art, culture and literature,\u201d the university\u2019s Vice-Chancellor,\nProf. R.K.Chauhan said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The SOA Centre for Preservation,\nPropagation and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India\n(PPRACHIN), a SOA initiative aiming at preservation, propagation and\nrestoration of the country\u2019s rich heritage and culture, is organizing the\nevent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"853\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/SOA-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"394\" data-link=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/?attachment_id=394\" class=\"wp-image-394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/SOA-copy.jpg 853w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/SOA-copy-300x151.jpg 300w, https:\/\/utkalaage.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/SOA-copy-768x385.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; PPRACHIN\u2019s main thrust is to make a\nvariety of publications, conduct research, take up digitalization, organize\nworkshops, seminars and conferences to provide an understanding and\nappreciation of the philosophy, aesthetics and beauty inherent in Indian art,\nliterature and culture, its Head, Dr. Gayatribala Panda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The literary figures expected to\nparticipate in the festival include Dr. Vasdev Mohi, eminent Sindhi poet who\nhas been conferred with the prestigious Saraswati Samman this year, Dr. Sitanshu\nYashaschandra, Dr. Jayanta Mohapatra, Dr. Pratibha Ray, Dr. Ramakant Rath, Dr.\nSitakanta Mahapatra, Dr. Vikram Sampath, Ms. Chitra Mudgal, Dr. Dnyaneshwar\nMulay, Mr. H.S. Shivaprakash,&nbsp; Mr. Jayant\nParmar, Mr. Ashok Maheshwari, Mr. Arun Kamal, Mr. Brajendra Tripathi, Dr. Rita\nNath Keshari, Dr. Ranu Unyal, Mr. A.J.Thomas, Mr. Udayan Vajpeyi, Mr. Amandeep\nSandhu, Mr. Rajendra Kishore Panda, Dr. Soubhagya Kumar Mishra, Mr. Kuldeep\nKumar, Ms. Yashodhara Ray Choudhury, Mr. Haraprasad Das, Ms. K.R.Meera, Mr.\nNirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee &nbsp;and Dr.\nRajendra Prasad Mishra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The event, which will have 26\nsessions spread over the two days, will also feature Odia film personalities\nlike Mr. Sabyasachi Mohapatra, Ms. Anu Choudhury, Mr. Akash Das Nayak and Mr.\nAkhyay Parija, Dr. Panda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Odia author Mr. Tarun Kanti Mishra\nand Santali writer Mr. Kali Charan Hembram, who have been nominated for the Kendriya\nSahitya Akademi award for 2019, will be felicitated on the first day of the\nmeet, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The topics to be deliberated upon\nwill include \u2018A Moment\u2019s Monument: Art of Short Story\u2019, \u2018Inter Lingual\nTranslation in India\u2019, \u2018Publishing Trends in India: The Problem of\nPlenty\u2019,&nbsp; \u2018Women\u2019s Writing: Holding Up\nHalf the Sky\u2019, \u2018Literature and the Fifth Column: A Troubled Marriage\u2019, \u2018Return\nof the Narrative: Novel Writing in India\u2019, \u2018Poetry as Performance\u2019, \u2018Visual\nPoetry: The Exploration of Colour\u2019, \u2018How to Tell a Story When There is No\nStory\u2019, \u2018Can a Contemporary Best Seller stand the Test of Time\u2019, \u2018Roll, Camera,\nAction: Magic Mantra of Our Times\u2019 and \u2018Jagannath Culture\u2019.\n\nThere will also be \u2018Face to Face\u2019 sessions with\neminent litterateurs like Dr. Jayanta Mohapatra, Dr. Sitanshu Yashaschandra,\nMr. Amandeep Sandhu, Mr. Vikram Sampath and Ms. Sadhana Shanker.
